Senior Java UI Developer at Citi in Pune, Maharashtra

Citi is seeking a seasoned Senior Java UI Developer to join their technology team in Pune, Maharashtra. This role is responsible for leading and directing a team of professionals in the analysis, design, and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a deep understanding of applications development best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage an Applications Development team, including performance evaluations, training, development, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Recommend and implement new work procedures to enhance process efficiencies.
• Resolve complex technical issues by identifying and selecting appropriate solutions based on experience and precedent.
• Develop and apply comprehensive knowledge of how the applications development area integrates with other technical domains.
• Ensure the quality of tasks performed by the team and influence decisions impacting the team and related work groups.
• Serve as a backup to the Applications Development Manager and mentor junior developers and analysts.
• Operate with a significant degree of independence and autonomy, exercising sound judgment.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for senior stakeholders and team members.
• Demonstrate strong team management capabilities.
• Assess business risks, emphasizing the firm's reputation, client assets, and adherence to regulations, policies, and ethical conduct. Supervise the activities of others and foster accountability.

Qualifications:

• 5-9 years of relevant professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Angular/React Typescript.
• 4+ years of experience with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5.
• Proven experience in managing and implementing successful software development projects.
• Ability to take ownership and make critical technical decisions for software development projects.
• Experience with dependency management, change management, continuous integration testing tools, and audit/compliance requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of software engineering principles and object-oriented design.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
