Job Description

The Senior Data Engineer will contribute to building the next generation of cloud-based data tools and reporting for Experian's MCE contact center division. This role is crucial to our success, as valuable, accurate, and timely information is core to our operations.

A primary focus is delivery pace and meeting commitments to ensure we provide information at the speed of business. This requires understanding the business logic, environment, and workflows. Responsibilities include:

  • Constructing datasets using complex, custom stored procedures, views, and queries (strong SQL skills are a must, ideally in Redshift and/or PostgreSQL).
  • Developing full lifecycle data solutions, from data ingestion (using custom AWS-based data movement/ETL processes via Glue with Python code) to downstream real-time and historical reports.
  • Understanding data-driven business objectives and developing solutions to solve those needs using various technologies.
  • Building reusable data-related tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing to enable DevOps and reduce dependencies.
  • Ensuring security components are implemented via automation.
  • Staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Training team members, creating documentation, and leading as a senior engineer.
  • Supporting US Operations, aligning with US-based teams.

Qualifications Required:

  • Extensive experience in modern data manipulation and preparation via SQL code.
  • Solid automation skillset.
  • Experience constructing reports within a BI tool.
  • Ability to create CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to identify business needs and create reporting tools.
  • Strong ability and willingness to help others.
  • Goal-driven individual.

Skills:

  • 3+ years developing complex SQL code required, preferably within Redshift and/or PostgreSQL
  • 1+ years using Python, Java, C#, or other similar object-oriented language
  • CI/CD pipeline construction, preferably using GitHub Actions
  • Git experience
  • General knowledge of AWS Services, with a preference in Glue and Lambda.
