Senior Accountant

Kforce Inc in Cockeysville, MD, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to bolster our accounting operations. This pivotal role focuses on comprehensive general ledger management, meticulous month-end closing procedures, accurate account reconciliations, and detailed financial reporting. The ideal candidate possesses robust technical accounting acumen and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, working collaboratively with the Accounting Manager and Controller to uphold rigorous financial reporting standards in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Key responsibilities include:

• Spearheading and executing critical phases of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries with precision.
• Conducting thorough balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations and investigating any variances.
• Maintaining and analyzing general ledger activity to ensure utmost accuracy and completeness.
• Contributing to the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages.
• Assisting with external audit requests, including the preparation of necessary schedules and supporting documentation.
• Reviewing transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP and appropriate accounting treatment.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Operations teams to effectively resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Proactively identifying opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.
• Supporting special projects and ad hoc analyses as required.
