Robotics Program Manager (RN) - Main Operating Room (OR)

VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia, is actively seeking a dynamic Robotics Program Manager to lead its advanced robotic surgical program within the Main Operating Room (OR). This pivotal role requires strategic vision and operational excellence to drive the growth and efficiency of robotic surgery across multiple specialties. The manager will be instrumental in developing program initiatives, optimizing operational workflows, and ensuring comprehensive training and onboarding for staff. This position is key to expanding 24/7 robotic surgery access for all specialties at VCU Health.

Key responsibilities include the development and continuous improvement of the DaVinci robotics program, setting utilization and quality goals in conjunction with surgical leadership, and coordinating staff training and onboarding. The role also involves providing ongoing education and competency support to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Surgical Technologists (STs) across all VCU locations, working closely with the perioperative education department. Monitoring case scheduling, block utilization, turnover times, instrument usage, and disposable spend, along with identifying cost-saving opportunities, are critical functions. The manager will partner with supply chain and vendors for inventory management, maintain dashboards tracking utilization, surgeon volumes, and clinical outcomes, and report key metrics to hospital leadership. Identifying new specialties for robotic adoption and supporting community outreach and marketing efforts to enhance the program's competitive edge are also integral. This position serves as the main liaison with Intuitive Surgical and involves evaluating new robotic technologies for integration into practice.
