Experience Level: Mid Level
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required
- Must possess good written and verbal skills
- Must be proficient in the verification and validation of requirements for finished and purchased products, raw materials, or related processes
- Must be able to establish and support visual, basic dimensional, and associated documentation of inspections per specified procedures or instructions within the framework of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) standards
- Position will require the use of technical measurement equipment and knowledge of advanced use of PC and computer systems, and associated software
- Knowledge of statistics, advanced mathematics, and Drawing Print Reading/Interpretation is required
- This job will require training others in the correct use and care of instruments and inspection methods used in the orthopedics industry
Full Job Description
As a Quality Engineer 1 in Memphis, TN, you will play a crucial role in supporting quality system requirements within logistics and operations. This position involves providing essential technical support for instrument inspection activities and fostering strong collaborative relationships with diverse teams and external contractors. Your responsibilities will encompass Electronic Field Inspection Procedure (EFIP) Architecture and Advanced Troubleshooting, eFIP data analytics, and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) with Field Inspection, Calibration, and PFMEA processes. You will be instrumental in the Creation & Maintenance of Field Quality Processes and Procedures, providing direct support for Global Distribution Center (GDC) and Field Quality related Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), Quality Holds, and Non-Conformances (NCs). This role also involves direct support to Quality Managers for various Field Office, Commercial Operations, and Distribution Projects, with opportunities for cross-training in other Quality Control areas as needed. The position requires proficiency in verification and validation of requirements for finished and purchased products, raw materials, and related processes, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). You will establish and support visual, basic dimensional, and associated documentation of inspections using technical measurement equipment, advanced PC systems, and relevant software. A strong understanding of statistics, advanced mathematics, and drawing print reading/interpretation is essential. Furthermore, you will be responsible for training others in the correct use and care of instruments and inspection methods specific to the orthopedics industry.
