Full Job Description
IES Communications in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Project Lead-Structured Cabling. This is a full-time, onsite position where you will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. You will ensure project completion meets quality and safety standards while optimizing project staff efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead major project crews, ensuring effective performance and providing training.
- Uphold Company and customer safety and quality guidelines, conducting weekly safety meetings.
- Initiate performance communications and escalate issues to the Project Manager as needed.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, timely job completion, and adherence to project budgets.
- Accurately and promptly complete all required IES COMMERCIAL and project paperwork, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
- Conduct quality checks, coordinate moves and cut sheets for voice and data cross-connects, and prepare red-lined as-built drawings.
- Serve as the primary on-site customer contact for inquiries and concerns, attending facility and construction meetings as required.
- Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Perform other assigned responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field, with demonstrated ability to supervise others.
- Proven skill in interpreting blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
- Proficiency with required tools.
- Ability to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to see and distinguish colors, read small print, and hear audible signals.
- Ability to travel within the branch and/or regional territory as needed.
- High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Strong self-motivation, positive attitude, and professionalism.
