- Knowledge of math, with the ability to add and subtract whole numbers
- Use of fixed gauges, direct reading instruments and similar devices; where interpretation is not required
- Ability to operate MIG welding gun, banding machine, crane and saw
- Ability to use measuring tape, square, hammer, chisel, wire cutters, ruler, staple gun and other power and hand tools

Quanex, a prominent global manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated Production Associate for our Steel Department in Zanesville, OH. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks essential to our production process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and welding materials, contributing directly to the fabrication of high-quality components.
Key responsibilities include precise material measurement and cutting for subsequent welding and assembly, and the safe movement of materials up to 60 lbs. You will operate machinery such as saws and welding equipment, ensuring parts are formed, punched, or sawed as required. A significant part of the role involves assembling and preparing door components, including positioning, welding, and ensuring structural integrity. You will also be involved in the material handling for painting and packing processes, maintaining workflow efficiency and adhering to quality standards. Active participation in '5S' initiatives and continuous improvement efforts is expected. Following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
