Qualifications
Experience Level: Entry Level
- Engineering Degree preferably BSME
- 0-2 years' experience
- Manage new part programs at the individual component level, ensuring completion of assigned activity
- Apply a basic knowledge of engineering principles, established engineering procedures and automotive engineering to complete assigned activities
- Establish and expand skills in reverse engineering aftermarket products, building a strong foundation in part design and validation processes of the Engineering department
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and basic project management principles
- Participates in DVP&R completion tasks as assigned by senior engineering staff
- Prepare and complete sample approvals, testing requests; evaluate test results, and publish final test reports
- Support engineering quality issue resolution, evaluate returned products for failure mode, and provide actionable feedback
- Collaborate with manufacturing facilities to ensure manufacturability of designs, participate in feasibility reviews, and assist in implementing new materials and designs

This role is pivotal in the design, engineering, and release of critical components. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams and customer support to ensure seamless product development and lifecycle management. Responsibilities include internal part design, reverse engineering of existing products, managing designs developed by suppliers, overseeing 1st article approvals, conducting validation testing, defining quality and inspection requirements, performing failure analysis, and providing essential support to Purchasing and Marketing departments. You will also interface with external customers and suppliers, and provide simultaneous engineering support for both local and offsite manufacturing facilities. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity in Skokie, IL.
