Full Job Description
Canonical's Partner Engineering Team seeks open-source enthusiasts to optimize Ubuntu for new silicon technologies across various architectures (x86, ARM, RISC-V, PowerPC, and s390x). As a Linux Software Engineer, you will work remotely and collaborate globally to:
- Collaborate within a distributed team.
- Foster a software ecosystem for seamless user experiences.
- Evaluate contributions and maintain high-quality software standards.
- Shape the future of Ubuntu through innovation and advising.
- Collaborate with Ubuntu and Debian communities.
- Debug open source and team-maintained code.
- Assist customers with application integration, SDKs, and OS image builds.
- Maintain silicon features and optimized packages across servers, HPC/AI systems, IoT devices, PCs, SmartNICs, and automotive systems.
Required Skills:
- Exceptional academic record.
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject.
- Passion for technology and collaboration.
- Strong communication and accountability.
- Fundamentals in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with or interest in Linux distribution packaging.
- Experience or interest in open source maintenance.
- Understanding of package management.

- Graphics, audio, or multimedia stacks.
