Sequoia is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Backend Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and scaling high-performance, secure backend systems that support our strategic people spend platform.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performance-optimized backend applications.
• Integrate server-side logic seamlessly with user-facing elements developed by front-end teams.
• Act as an architect for your modules, ensuring the scalability and robustness of applications.
• Develop reusable, testable, and efficient code following best practices.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum of 12+ years of experience in the design and implementation of Microservices architecture.
• Exceptional proficiency in Algorithms, Solutioning, and Problem Solving.
• Hands-on coding expertise in languages such as Python, Node.js, or Golang, coupled with significant experience using MongoDB as a NoSQL database.
• Solid understanding of server-side templating and CSS pre-processors.
• Knowledge of accessibility and security compliance best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into a unified system.
• Deep understanding of fundamental design principles for scalable application architectures.
• Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
