Experience Level: Senior Level
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university
- 7–10+ years in commercial or DOE nuclear design
- Proficient in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes
- Skilled in engineering design principles (e.g., GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, interference checks)
- Experienced in equipment design using industry codes
- Familiar with creating P&ID, PFD, and general arrangement drawings for equipment packages
- Proven ability to work with engineers and fabricators to develop designs and drawings
- Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Full Job Description
Kiewit, a prominent full-service engineering, project management, and construction provider in North America, is seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers for its nuclear solutions team. This role focuses on developing innovative designs within the nuclear market, collaborating closely with fabrication and construction teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery. Successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out integrated engineering processes, authoring and reviewing technical documentation, creating and assessing concept drawings, and resolving design issues in line with stringent engineering standards and quality assurance requirements. Occasional travel, less than 20%, may be required. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Overland Park, KS, with potential work in Oak Ridge, TN.
