Junior Backend Platform Engineer- Kolkata

Key Responsibilities

Backend Feature Development

• Implement backend services and APIs according to established designs.
• Safely extend existing workflows and approval processes.
• Develop configurable logic, avoiding hard-coded assumptions.

Data & API Implementation

• Develop REST APIs adhering to industry standards.
• Utilize relational databases for schema implementation and query development.
• Ensure robust validation, error handling, and logging mechanisms are in place.

Integration Support

• Assist in building and testing integrations with:
  • SAP (through defined interfaces)
  • CRM systems
  • External services such as GPS and WhatsApp.
• Implement designed retry logic and error handling for integrations.

Testing & Quality

• Write unit and integration tests for assigned code modules.
• Validate workflows against expected and edge-case scenarios.
• Address and fix defects identified during QA and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

AI-Assisted Development

• Utilize AI tools for:
  • Generating boilerplate code.
  • Drafting APIs and data schemas.
  • Enhancing test coverage.
  • Accelerating debugging processes.
• Develop proficiency in validating AI-generated outputs for accuracy and security.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2-5 years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in one of the following technology stacks: Node.js, Java, or .NET.
• Foundational understanding of APIs, databases, and backend service architecture.
• Enthusiasm for learning enterprise integration patterns and audit concepts.
• Comfort and aptitude in using AI tools to boost productivity.
