Qualifications
Experience Level: Senior Level
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, or closely related discipline is required
- 5+ years of relevant/recent IT audit and data analytics experience, preferably within audit, financial, risk management, or technology functions within banking or financial services
- Experience working with banking systems and understanding of banking operations
- Proven track record of leveraging technology, applying data analysis tools, techniques, and business intelligence in executing audit or consulting assignments
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Copilot)
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python
- Familiarity or proficiency with data capture software such as TeamMate Analytics or IDEA
- Experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, Tableau, or Qlik
- Experience with developing and implementing continuous assurance monitoring routines
- Experience with performing internal control testing and related auditing techniques

The Washington Trust Company is seeking an experienced IT Auditor with strong Data Analytics and Reporting skills to join our Internal Audit Department. This role is crucial for supporting our IT-related, data, and reporting audit initiatives. The ideal candidate will utilize data-driven analytics to improve audit effectiveness, pinpoint risk trends, and deliver actionable insights. You will be instrumental in fostering digital transformation, employing advanced data analytical techniques, and implementing continuous assurance monitoring to identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics solutions to streamline audit processes; managing data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and analysis from various banking systems; identifying and validating data sources; creating and maintaining a library of reusable data analytics routines; collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement continuous auditing techniques; developing dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings; assisting in the development of audit programs incorporating data analytics; ensuring data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance; and performing IT audit tests on various systems.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Westerly, RI. We offer a competitive salary range of $105K-$130K annually, along with health and welfare benefits, paid time-off, a work-life program, and a 401(k) plan.
