- Sell company products and services to customers by processing orders, price and delivery inquiries, providing technical and application information, soliciting customer orders and suggesting additional products in a fast paced multi-tasking environment
- Maintains responsibility of orders from quotation to collection: Select and specify a variety of products utilizing a variety of FCX and vendor supplied tools/software
- Responds to customer inquiries
- Processes customers' orders and send order acknowledgements
- Review customer purchase orders for special conditions/documentation
- Checks availability and verifies ship dates
- Increases order size by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customer's buying history
- Processes and expedites orders, customer returns and returns to vendors in an accurate and timely manner
- Locates product and creates purchase orders
- Follows-up with vendors to ensure timely delivery

Join Applied Industrial Technologies as an Inside Sales Representative in Farmington Hills, MI. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing customer relationships, offering effective solutions for their process flow control needs. Your primary focus will be on ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty. You will engage with customers to understand their requirements, process orders efficiently, and provide crucial technical and application information. By actively soliciting orders and suggesting complementary products, you will contribute to sales growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position involves managing the entire order lifecycle, from initial quotation to final collection, utilizing specialized tools and software to select and specify a wide range of flow control products. You will also be responsible for responding to inquiries, confirming orders, verifying ship dates, and proactively identifying opportunities to increase order value by recommending related items and leveraging customer purchase history. Expediting orders, managing returns, creating purchase orders, and collaborating closely with vendors to ensure timely deliveries are key aspects of this role. Furthermore, you will work hand-in-hand with our Outside Sales team to drive business development and maintain exceptional customer service standards. Effective communication and a collaborative spirit are essential as you become a valued member of our inside sales team. Maximizing gross margins through expert service, problem-solving, and technical knowledge is a core objective. You will also actively monitor and address open customer orders to ensure on-time delivery. Other duties as assigned by management.
