Baringa, a consulting firm renowned for creating significant client impact through its people-first ethos, is actively seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to lead the comprehensive people agenda for its US operations. This pivotal role will provide dedicated HR support and drive key people processes, ensuring strategic alignment with overarching business objectives in the United States.

As an HR Business Partner at Baringa, you will oversee the full spectrum of the people agenda for US-based colleagues, acting as the primary HR contact. The breadth of this role offers extensive opportunities to engage in diverse HR activities, including Performance Management, Wellness initiatives, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Onboarding, Promotions, Salary Reviews, and People Management Information (MI).

You will be instrumental in developing and owning the local People Plans for your designated client group, with accountability for their successful execution. This involves close collaboration with other HR functions such as Reward, Recruitment, Employee Experience, and Learning & Development (L&D).

Building strong, trusted relationships is essential. You will provide hands-on support to Partner Leads, assisting them in the delivery of their business plans through effective people strategies. Furthermore, you will expertly support, advise, coach, and upskill people managers across various experience levels.

A key responsibility will be to deliver training programs across the US, aimed at educating and enhancing the skills of our people in Baringa's best practices and operational methodologies. We are looking for an individual who is proactive in their stakeholder engagement, confident in challenging norms, and influential in driving positive change.

The role also encompasses supporting organizational structure changes and workforce planning. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Baringa's US locations and the broader People team based in the UK, demonstrating flexibility to adapt approaches for different jurisdictional and location-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead HRBP for US operations, managing the full people agenda and serving as the primary HR point of contact for US colleagues.
  • Engage in a wide range of HR activities, including Performance Management, Wellness, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Onboarding, Promotions, Salary Reviews, and People MI.
  • Develop and own local People Plans for assigned client groups, ensuring progress and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with central HR functions such as Reward, Recruitment, Employee Experience, and L&D.
  • Build trusted relationships and provide hands-on support to Partner Leads in delivering people strategies.
  • Coach, advise, and upskill people managers.
  • Deliver training programs on Baringa best practices and ways of working across the US.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders, challenge constructively, and influence effectively.
  • Support organizational structure changes and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with US-based colleagues and the UK-based People team, adapting to diverse jurisdictional needs.

Qualifications:

  • Substantial experience in HR, with a strong preference for a HRBP or HR Generalist background.
  • Proficient knowledge and practical application of Employee Relations (ER) procedures, including investigations, performance management, and sick absence management, with the ability to independently manage ER cases in line with local labor law.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to foster good HR practices and strong stakeholder management capabilities to interact effectively with management and the wider business.
  • A self-motivated individual with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude, willing to take initiative and actively contribute.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and a risk-aware approach, balancing local stakeholder needs with Baringa's long-term interests.
  • Ability to work in true partnership with colleagues across People and broader corporate functions.
  • Proven ability to provide comprehensive advice, guidance, and support on training, learning, and people development interventions, collaborating with business units and central teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within US professional services firms and/or Partnerships is highly desirable.
