Northwell Health, a leading health system in New York, is actively seeking an Enterprise Communications Technician for its Melville, NY location. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the health system's communication infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of communication systems and the vital cabling infrastructure that supports both voice and data communications across our extensive network. This position is a full-time, onsite opportunity.

Key responsibilities include supporting, maintaining, and implementing the IT cabling infrastructure needs of the health system. This involves the installation, repair, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructures, including contributing to the design and build-out of cable plant infrastructure to meet evolving voice and data requirements. The technician will perform cabling work across diverse mediums and assist engineers with the installation and testing of phone systems, wireless systems (APs, Antennas), and network devices (routers, switches, servers). Emphasis will be placed on ensuring all cables are properly supported and bundled according to health system standards and conducting certification tests for newly installed cable systems. Documentation preparation must be approved by leadership and adhere to health system standards. While the role primarily involves routine and transactional assignments guided by established policies, the technician will exercise independent judgment on basic to moderately complex issues. Interaction with various health system groups, leadership, and external vendors may be required for successful IT infrastructure implementation. Day-to-day work is largely self-directed, with instructions provided for new assignments. Related duties as required are considered essential functions.
