Full Job Description
Northwell Health is actively seeking an experienced Enterprise Communications Technician for their Lake Success, NY location. This vital role involves the comprehensive installation, diligent maintenance, expert troubleshooting, and timely repair of communication systems throughout the entire health system. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all technical documentation and work logs are meticulously maintained and kept up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support, maintenance, and implementation for the IT cabling infrastructure needs across the health system.
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, test, and maintain diverse cabling infrastructures, including the design and build-out of new or expanded cable plant infrastructure to support voice and data requirements.
- Perform all cabling work across various mediums, adhering to industry best practices.
- Assist engineers with the installation and testing of key communication technologies, including Phone Systems, Wireless systems (Access Points, Antennas), and Network devices (routers, switches, servers).
- Ensure all cable installations are properly supported and bundled in strict accordance with health system standards.
- Conduct certification tests to verify that all newly installed cable systems meet or exceed health system standards.
- Ensure all written documentation is approved by leadership and fully conforms to health system standards.
- Manage routine and transactional assignments, guided by established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Exercise independent judgment on basic to moderately complex job-related issues and tasks.
- Engage with various health system groups, leadership, and external vendors, partners, or clients to ensure the successful implementation of IT Infrastructures.
- Work independently on day-to-day tasks with minimal instruction, receiving guidance on new assignments.
- Perform related duties as required. All responsibilities are considered essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience is mandatory.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills, including phone, email, and in-person support.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow for ticket creation, updates, and resolution.
- General understanding of mobile device management platforms: Workspace ONE (WS1), JAMF, Microsoft Intune, Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME), and Apple Business Manager (ABM).
- Working knowledge of both iOS and Android mobile operating systems.
- A firm understanding of Active Directory.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
