- 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience
- 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational
- Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a premier cloud platform, is actively seeking a skilled Engineering Operations Technician in Umatilla, OR. This crucial role focuses on the meticulous maintenance and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center facilities. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless and reliable operation of sophisticated electrical and mechanical equipment, directly contributing to the high availability of AWS services. Key responsibilities include conducting daily building rounds to monitor critical equipment, managing Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS), and actively participating in the troubleshooting of facility and rack-level issues within stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will also be involved in rack installations and decommissioning, performing preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems. This position requires strong technical writing skills for change management, proactive management of daily work requests, and the execution of projects from inception to completion. You will provide on-site support for contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to all established procedures and local legislation. The work schedule is dynamic, potentially involving 12-hour shifts, rotations, and on-call duties, and may require supporting multiple AWS data center locations.
