Qualifications
Experience Level: Mid Level
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of NEC and/or NESC
- Experience and knowledge of basic electrical design concepts
- Associates Degree or Technical School Certificate in Electrical Design, Solar Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related degree
- Approximately 2 - 5 years of experience in the drafting/design of electrical power/distribution systems
- Working knowledge and ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows/Office products
- Professional appearance with excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Must have a strong work ethic along with a positive attitude; be a supportive team member, able to work in a collaborative environment
- Must be self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines
Full Job Description
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a motivated Electrical Graduate Engineer for our Plano, TX office to support the growth of our renewable energy sector. This role focuses on producing high-quality construction documents for solar, wind, and energy storage projects. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary design team, including civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and surveyors, to ensure successful project delivery. Key responsibilities include utilizing AutoCAD for site layouts, wire/cable routing plans, one-line diagrams, details, and equipment/wire schedules, as well as performing quantity takeoffs. You will also create wiring/cable schedules based on takeoffs and input from senior engineers, and maintain awareness of Westwood's design and CAD standards. This is a full-time, onsite position.
