This pivotal role involves leading a talented team in the design and construction of robust data pipelines. You will be instrumental in mentoring engineers, fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and upholding data quality standards to drive business strategies through effective technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers in designing and building scalable data pipelines from various sources to a target data warehouse, employing real-time and batch loading strategies with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Provide direct people leadership, including mentoring, coaching, formal performance reviews, and actionable feedback to foster individual growth and team success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, engineering leaders, data analysts, and data scientists, to define business and technical requirements.
- Partner with business and data leaders to align the team's roadmap with broader business strategies and key initiatives.
- Establish and enforce standards for documenting data platform designs, including logical and physical data models, metadata, ETL specifications, and end-to-end integration workflows.
- Design and implement processes to ensure data quality and integrity while efficiently addressing ad hoc requests.
- Lead and execute proof-of-concepts to assess, validate, and enhance technical processes and approaches.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, adept at articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing a mid-size team.
- Proven technical leadership experience guiding and coaching data engineering teams.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the big data space.
