Topa Group, Inc. is actively seeking a skilled Commercial AV Installation Technician to join a dynamic project team in Louisville, KY. This onsite role focuses on the installation, termination, and comprehensive testing of low-voltage audio/video systems within commercial settings. If you have practical AV or low-voltage experience and are eager to advance your career in structured project environments, this is an excellent opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the pulling, routing, and precise termination of low-voltage cabling including CAT5/6, speaker, and control wiring.
- Conduct thorough cable testing utilizing industry-standard tone generators and testers to ensure optimal performance.
- Install various AV components such as speakers, displays, wall plates, microphones, and projectors.
- Assemble and rack-mount AV equipment, meticulously labeling cables according to established industry standards.
- Interpret and work from basic drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Address and complete punch-list items with accuracy and within project timelines.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites, adhering strictly to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with Lead Technicians and Project Managers to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Demonstrated prior experience in AV or low-voltage installation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, ladder use, and a strong understanding of job-site safety practices.
- Physical capability to lift up to 80 lbs and comfortably work in challenging environments including ceilings, lifts, and confined spaces.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- A clean driving record.
Preferred:
- Possession of AVIXA CTS certification or active pursuit of the certification.
- Familiarity and experience with leading AV manufacturers such as Crestron, Biamp, Extron, Shure, and others.
