Full Job Description
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is seeking a dedicated Client Development & Engagement Specialist to bolster its global business development efforts. This integral role focuses on the meticulous management of firm information, in-depth market research, and the development of strategic plans to foster growth and maintain consistency in business initiatives for our Private Equity practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of the Firm’s engagement database and critical information, including engagement details, fact sheets, attorney biographies, deal and experience lists, rankings, awards, practice area descriptions, and client contact information.
- Conduct comprehensive research and provide insightful analysis on clients, competitors, markets, industry trends, and sector-specific developments.
- Manage and update website content, attorney biographies, practice group descriptions, and other Business Development and communications materials across various platforms: web, print, and digital formats.
- Support the drafting of bespoke pitches, responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other marketing collateral for new business opportunities and client meetings.
- Act as a subject matter expert on corporate practice areas, attorney specializations, related entities, media presence, and market positioning, while staying informed of industry advancements and market shifts.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to ensure unified communication of key firm initiatives and cross-practice collaboration opportunities.
- Assist in the coordination of Firm-sponsored events, webinars, and presentations, managing logistical aspects such as invitation formatting, RSVP tracking, name badge preparation, promotional material deployment, and post-event follow-up.
- Lead the creation of advertising, posters, flyers, and other promotional assets, liaising with the Graphic Designer and external vendors as necessary.
- Provide support for Business Development projects and other Firm-wide initiatives as required.
- Engage with stakeholders across different Departments and international offices as needed.
- Undertake other assigned duties to support the team's objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, high-demand professional setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a self-driven approach to producing accurate, timely, and complete work.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities.

- Capacity to anticipate information needs to meet internal and external client requirements proactively, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to rapidly acquire organizational insight and understand the Firm's culture, strategic vision, policies, and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Prior experience in marketing and business development within a law firm is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Content Pilot or similar experience database systems is a plus.
- Experience in website content management is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system is preferred.
