
Back-end Software Engineer II
Full Job Description
The Standard India is seeking a Back-End Software Engineer II with expertise in Java to join our Bengaluru-based team. This hybrid role involves collaborating with Product Owners, Analysts, Scrum Masters, Front-End Engineers, SDETs, Data Engineers, SREs, and UX Designers to develop scalable, modern backend services for enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong Java programming skills, REST API development experience, and familiarity with Java Spring Boot. Proficiency in API engineering for enterprise solutions and experience developing in Microsoft Azure with Azure-native resources are essential. You will build highly scalable and reliable REST APIs, services, and applications, applying best practices like SOLID and contributing to engineering patterns and methodologies. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub, supporting streamlined development workflows. On-site presence in Bengaluru is required for key engagements, with flexibility for remote work based on business needs.
Skills and Background:
- Engineering degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Experience implementing Java API design patterns with Spring Boot.
- Experience optimizing APIs for speed, responsiveness, and adherence to specifications like OpenAPI.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) on Azure.
- Experience in load testing REST API applications (e.g., Apache JMeter, SOAPUI).
- Experience integrating with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience developing and implementing in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Experience working within Agile/DevOps methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Preferred: Experience configuring Azure Application Gateway and API management solutions (e.g., Kong Konnect).
- Preferred: Experience with event-driven publish-subscribe patterns (e.g., Azure Event Hub, Kafka) and developing orchestrations.
- Highly preferred: Previous experience in a GCC environment.
