Full Job Description

Owens Corning, a leader in sustainable and innovative building products, seeks an Automation & Process Control Engineer for its Fort Smith, AR facility. This role involves providing onsite support for the troubleshooting, design, and implementation of process control systems. You will also manage projects focused on control system enhancements. Key responsibilities include working with a safety-first mindset, troubleshooting production issues across PLCs, HMIs, drives, safety systems, and IT/OT networks, and addressing technical issues with long-term solutions. You will design control system modifications, including specifying parts, creating schematics with AutoCAD, programming adjustments, and leading commissioning. The role also entails evaluating and optimizing processes, developing PLC data for reporting, managing control system enhancement projects, and collaborating effectively with various internal teams. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a commitment to maintaining clean documentation and program backups are essential. You will also be responsible for training maintenance technicians and operators on new technology, supporting the Break Down Analysis process, adhering to the Reliability Work Process (RWP), and leading Plant TPM Initiatives and Projects. Ensuring adherence to the management of change process is also a critical aspect of this position.
