Applied Scientist 4

We are seeking a talented Applied Scientist 4 to lead the invention, implementation, and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with diverse teams to conceptualize and deliver innovative solutions that address complex customer needs. You will be instrumental in defining, designing, and shipping product quality improvements from initial ideation through to customer delivery. Your responsibilities will include writing high-quality code for experiments and model development, contributing to production model code, and working hand-in-hand with product management and engineering to create solutions that strategically differentiate Oracle in the market. You will also be responsible for setting up experiment environments, including distributed systems, and engaging directly with customers to solve challenging problems. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly impact our customers through ML/AI innovations, advance the state-of-the-art in machine learning for large-scale applications, and ensure solutions are developed with fairness and explainability at their core. Key tasks involve training data collection, feature engineering, model training, offline and online experimentation, and driving independent research and development. Excellent communication skills are essential to articulate technical work across all audience levels and functional areas, while also tracking progress and ensuring best practices are followed.
