Applications Developer 2

As a Python Junior Developer at Oracle, you will contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications using Python. Working closely with senior engineers, you will implement features, troubleshoot issues, and integrate with APIs and databases. The role requires adherence to engineering standards and a collaborative approach. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses strong communication skills, and demonstrates effective problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with writing, testing, and debugging Python code under supervision.
• Collaborate with team members to develop new features and resolve defects.
• Support integrations with REST APIs, databases, and third-party services.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Learn and apply new tools and best practices.
• Contribute to team ceremonies and delivery processes (e.g., Agile/Scrum).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Basic understanding of Python programming principles.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to web frameworks such as Flask.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with the python-oracledb module.
• Exposure to parallel processing and threading.
