Team Lead - Data & Digital Advisory

We are seeking a Team Leader for our India based team. This leader will manage and grow a multidisciplinary team specializing in Geospatial Analytics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Data Engineering. You will be the primary interface between stakeholders in the UK and the team in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data and analytics and possess deep expertise in at least one of the key areas (Geospatial Analytics, GIS, or Data Engineering).

The Team Leader will provide strategic direction and technical leadership. Responsibilities include ensuring project outcomes align with business objectives, resource and talent management, staff development, and succession planning. Regular visits to the UK are required.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of professionals in Geospatial Analytics, GIS, and Data Engineering.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.
• Demonstrate line management capability.

Project Management & Delivery

• Oversee project planning and execution, focusing on Geospatial Analytics and Data Engineering.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality results within agreed-upon times and budgets (minimum 40% project delivery).
• Possess a financial understanding of project delivery.

Geospatial Analytics & Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance in Geospatial Analytics, including spatial data modeling, analysis, and visualization.
• Lead the integration of geospatial data with engineering workflows.
• Serve as the subject matter expert in Geospatial Analytics, GIS, or Data Engineering.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of GIS solutions using tools such as ArcGIS, OpenLayers, and other geospatial analytics platforms.
• Oversee data engineering efforts, including data pipeline development, ETL processes, and data integration from multiple sources into Azure-based cloud environments.
• Develop and optimize spatial data models to support real-time analytics and geospatial visualizations.
• Design, implement, and maintain data architecture for geospatial datasets.
• Implement machine learning and geospatial data analysis techniques.
• Support the team in solving complex geospatial and data engineering challenges.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in geospatial analysis tools, and programming languages like Python or R for spatial data manipulation.
• Strong expertise in Azure cloud services.
• Proficiency in data engineering languages such as SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure), and databases such as SQL Server.
• Experience with geospatial data visualization, modelling, and machine learning techniques is a plus.
• Knowledge of AI/ML applications in geospatial analytics.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

• Strong communication skills and report writing expertise.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the UK team and the GCC.
• Present project updates and reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
• 15+ years of technical experience, with a focus on geospatial data and analytics.
• Proven experience managing or leading technical teams.
