About The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a talented team to create the core software powering Beam's mission. You'll work with various frontend and backend technologies, building new features and maintaining existing ones through bug fixes and enhancements. You'll closely collaborate with the product team, Head of Engineering, and fellow engineers to design and implement scalable solutions for end-users and partners. - Lit web components for SDK frontend

- AWS ECS, Lambdas, and other cloud services
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams using RFC and Tech Spec documents to plan and refine new solutions.
- Work with technical project leads to develop new features, enhancements and drive feature execution
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, 1-1 conversations, and team trainings
- Participate in on-call rotation for production infrastructure support
- Develop expertise in key areas of the Beam technology stack
- Gain knowledge of nonprofit giving and e-commerce enablement spaces
- Foster a team culture embodying Beam’s values of community, inclusivity, care, accountability and support
- Strive for continuous improvement through goal setting, feedback, and growth opportunities
What We’re Looking For
- 2-5 years of software engineering experience
- Experience working on production-level applications in a team environment
- Proficiency developing web applications using a Javascript-based framework like React, NextJS, or similar
- Solid understanding of web architecture principles and RESTful API design
- Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with fundamental development principles and processes: observability, performance optimization, CI, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure
Nice to haves
- Experience in an early startup
- Experience building e-commerce sites, or building integrations with e-commerce platforms
- Experience in a technical support or technical integration role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Compensation And Perks
- Expected annual compensation range: $154,000-181,500 USD
- Base salary $140,000-165,000 USD
- Up to 10% annual bonus based on individual performance

Location - RemoteWe are a remote-first company, so our team works from wherever they are. We also have office space in New York, currently in Hearst Tower, where you’re free to come work from as well. We have no plans to require in-office work.
