Software Engineer II - Front End (Remote)

Overview

This remote Software Engineer II role is open to candidates in AZ, GA, NC, and TX. You will play a key role in developing and delivering robust and scalable software solutions that support financial operations and enhance the customer experience. Working within an agile team, you will design, develop, and maintain software components, ensuring they meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Expertise in React and Node.js is crucial for building user-friendly interfaces and backend services. Strong problem-solving skills, understanding of performance optimization, and familiarity with testing frameworks are also required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain user interface components and web applications using React.js
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices
• Participate in all phases of the Agile development lifecycle, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, analysts, developers, testers) to define and implement solutions
• Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to improve automation and efficiency
• Analyze and solve technical problems, debugging and troubleshooting code issues
• Identify and implement strategies to optimize application performance
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and potentially contribute to automated testing frameworks
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing
• Create and maintain documentation for the codebase and its functionality
• May mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Application software programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Application software programming

Preferred Skills

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• In-depth understanding of JavaScript, including ES6+ features, closures and asynchronous programming
• Proven experience in building user interfaces with React.js
• Familiarity with state management libraries like Redux or MobX
• Understanding of the React component lifecycle and its best practices
• Experience with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha
• Ability to interact with REST APIs and handle data fetching and manipulation
• Proficient in using GITLAB for version control
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and ORACLE Database systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of basic UI/UX design principles
• Prior experience with regulated financial organization is a plus
