Software Engineer, Backend (India)

About the Role

Glean is seeking Backend/Infrastructure engineers in Bengaluru/Bangalore, India, to build a highly performant, scalable, secure, permissions-aware system that provides employees with readily available enterprise knowledge. This role offers opportunities to work on a modern cloud-native application stack, including building a scalable distributed system and storage, a unified application framework, and end-to-end security solutions. The focus is on creating an instant user experience while balancing system costs and implementing comprehensive monitoring and deployment across multiple cloud environments.

You Will:

• Own infrastructure problems from inception to production launch.
• Write design documents and robust, high-quality code.
• Collaborate with a strong team on impactful projects.
• Mentor junior engineers or learn from experienced ones.

About You:

• BA/BS in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in infrastructure for distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
• Customer-focused, team-oriented, and willing to take on impactful tasks.
• Proactive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot, and take ownership.
• Strong coding skills in Go/Python/Java/C++ with emphasis on reliability, scale, and testing.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development in GCP/AWS/Azure is a plus.
