Software Development Engineer I - Frontend

Volopay, a Y Combinator-backed fintech startup, is seeking a talented Frontend Engineer (SD1) with strong React.js expertise. This role involves building high-performing, intuitive, and scalable web applications within our innovative fintech platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create seamless user experiences. This position is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive, high-quality web applications using React.js.
• Translate complex UI/UX designs and product requirements into clean, reusable, and efficient code.
• Optimize performance, responsiveness, and scalability across browsers and devices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, product, and design teams.
• Ensure code quality through peer reviews, testing, and best practices.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and usability issues.
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in frontend development with a strong command of React.js.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Solid grasp of frontend architecture, state management, and component lifecycle in React.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, frontend build tools, and Git.
• Strong attention to detail, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Good understanding of UX principles and accessibility standards.
• React Native experience is a plus.
