Senior Software Engineer

About the Role:

Tekion is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build solutions for complex business workflows. This role involves taking end-to-end ownership of components, focusing on design, coding, testing, integration, and deployment. The role will involve utilization of AI tools for coding and documentation generation. You will write high-quality code, solve performance bottlenecks, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with various teams. The role requires delivering with quality and on time in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build solutions for complex business workflows
• Understand user personas and deliver a slick experience
• Take end-to-end ownership of components (design, code, testing, integration, deployment, enhancements)
• Utilize AI tools effectively for code review, code generation, and documentation (HLD/LLD)
• Write high-quality code
• Solve performance bottlenecks
• Mentor junior engineers
• Communicate and collaborate with management, product, QA, UI/UX teams
• Deliver with quality and on-time in a fast-paced start-up environment

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor/Master's in computer science or related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong sense of ownership
• Excellent Java and object-oriented development skills
• Experience with AI tools (Copilot, CodeWhisperer, CodeGeeX, etc.) for code review & code generation.
• Experience building and scaling microservices
• Strong problem-solving skills, technical troubleshooting, and diagnosing
• Strong knowledge in RDBMS and NoSQL technologies
• Experience developing backends for enterprise systems (eCommerce / manufacturing / supply chain, etc.)
• Excellent understanding of debugging, performance, and optimization techniques
• Experience in Java, Mongo, MySQL, AWS technologies, ELK stack, Spring Boot, Kafka
• Experience developing large-scale systems
• Experience in cloud technologies
• Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment
