About This Role

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Bangalore, Karnataka. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and scaling high-performance backend systems. You will leverage modern Java technologies and cloud-native architectures to build robust solutions. This position is perfect for an individual who thrives on complex system challenges, is passionate about code quality, and possesses a strong architectural vision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17 or newer versions (11+).
• Construct and evolve microservice-based and event-driven architectures.
• Develop APIs utilizing GraphQL.
• Work proficiently with Spring Boot and Spring Reactive (WebFlux).
• Design and optimize data models using MySQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
• Ensure the high performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.
• Implement performance testing and end-to-end testing strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams.
• Contribute significantly to architectural decisions and uphold technical best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership as needed.
• Participate in the development of AI-enabled features, including prompt engineering and backend integrations.

Your Profile

• A minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Deep expertise in Java 17 or other recent versions (11+).
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Spring Reactive.
• Solid understanding of MySQL and practical experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB or MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong grasp of microservice architecture and event-driven systems.
• Proven experience building and consuming GraphQL APIs.
• Demonstrated experience with performance optimization and testing.
• Experience with end-to-end testing strategies.
• Experience with prompt engineering for AI-powered applications.
• Experience with Python or a strong aptitude for learning Python.
• Excellent understanding of software design and architectural patterns.
• Ability to design elegant, scalable, and maintainable system architectures.
• Excellent communication skills and proficient English language ability.

Bonus Points

• Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building AI-integrated backend systems.
