Principal Member of Technical Staff

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff at Oracle, you will play a key role in evolving software development standards. You will define specifications for new projects, design, and develop software according to those specifications, and perform professional software development tasks related to the development, design, and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems.
• Build cloud services on the modern OCI infrastructure.
• Participate in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, to quality assurance, and to production.
• Invest in the best engineering and operational practices upfront.
• Optimize data processing pipelines for improved throughput and faster latencies.
• Leverage internal tooling at OCI for development, building, deployment, and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• 7 to 10 years of software industry experience in the design, development, and delivery of highly scalable products and services.
• Understanding of the entire product development lifecycle, including refining technical specifications, architecture review, code development and review, DevOps, release management, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of Java or JVM-based languages.
• Experience with multi-threading and parallel processing.
• Strong knowledge of big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Crunch, etc.
• Experience in building scalable, performant, and secure services/modules.
• Understanding of Micro Services architecture and API design.
• Experience with Container platforms.
• Good understanding of testing methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD technologies.
• Experience with observability tools like Splunk, New Relic, etc.
• Good understanding of versioning tools like Git/SVN.
