Under the direction of the DevOps Manager, the Junior Web Application Developer will be part of an agile team developing complex web application software for deployment across 10 UC campuses and 5 medical centers. This role involves supporting multiple departments within Risk Management at UCOP, participating in the design, coding, and documentation of application specifications, and delivering robust solutions to meet the University of California's needs. Responsibilities also include championing test-driven development, collaborating with senior developers, researching and learning department technologies, and working with the application development team throughout the software development cycle to produce quality software.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Experience programming complex web applications using technologies such as Angular or React, Java 8+, NODE, MVC, HTML5 and CSS3. Experience with database design using NoSQL and RDBMS, including ORM and stored procedures. Skills in automated testing tools such as Protractor, Karma, Jasmine, or Mocha, Junit.
Preferred Qualifications: Completed 40+ units of college coursework in computer science. Experience interpreting business functions to technical solutions. Experience with application development methodologies and standards, training, mentoring, and motivating technical staff. Skills in systems analysis, data processing, and interpersonal communication.
