Job Description

About the Job

Our client is developing a real-time grid intelligence platform with a next-generation sensing and analytics system. As they move from prototype to production, they're building a secure, scalable, and user-friendly interface for utilities.

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the development of our customer-facing application. The ideal candidate will deliver a high-quality user experience that meets stringent standards for usability, performance, and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Build user-facing applications: Design and implement a responsive and intuitive interface for utility operators and engineers.
  • Develop secure back-end services: Design APIs and services that interface with our cloud-based sensing and analytics pipeline.
  • Visualize real-time data: Integrate live and historical visualizations (e.g., sag, temperature, strain, alerts) using modern frameworks.
  • Collaborate on UX: Work with designers and product leads to translate utility workflows into clean, intuitive experiences.
  • Ensure reliability and scalability: Deliver high-performance, fault-tolerant systems across multi-tenant environments.
  • Prioritize cybersecurity: Implement secure coding practices, authentication/authorization standards, and compliance best practices.

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of full-stack development experience with secure, data-driven applications.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Front-end: React, Vue.js, or Angular; D3.js, Plotly, or similar data visualization libraries.
    • Back-end: Python (FastAPI, Flask), Node.js, or Go; PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB; RESTful APIs.
    • Security: OAuth2, JWT, TLS, RBAC, audit logging, and secure coding practices.
    • Cloud: AWS, GCP, or serverless architectures.
  • Experience with time-series data, WebSockets, and real-time alerting systems.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Available immediately, with reliable transportation to Irvine, CA.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with utility systems, SCADA/EMS integration, or industrial IoT.
  • Background in cybersecurity compliance for mission-critical infrastructure.
