About The Role

We are seeking experienced Frontend Engineers to join our Trading team at Coinbase. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and scaling core trading systems that serve both retail and professional traders. Your work will directly impact the seamlessness, security, and efficiency of crypto trading experiences, ranging from simple transactions to advanced derivatives and decentralized (DEX) trading. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of cutting-edge blockchain technology, trading infrastructure, and consumer products, contributing to Coinbase’s core business and shaping the future of digital finance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building engaging user interfaces, a strong understanding of frontend development best practices, and a proactive mindset to solve complex engineering challenges. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality features that enhance the trading experience for users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in developing web and/or mobile applications.
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript, and TypeScript for building user-facing features.
• Experience shipping component-based UI features and working within product and design lifecycles.
• Strong coding skills with a focus on writing high-quality, well-tested, and extensible code.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices in frontend architecture.
• Proactive attitude with a growth mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including designers and product managers.

Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with launching new products at scale, working on high-availability financial systems, familiarity with crypto trading, React Native mobile app development, GraphQL/Relay, and onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses and dApps.

• Design and develop engaging, intuitive, and dynamic interfaces for real-time price analysis, order execution, and trading data visualization.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to articulate and deliver a best-in-class trading experience.
• Translate innovative ideas into tangible features that provide high value to our customers.
• Optimize application performance to ensure smooth, responsive user experiences, minimizing latency in critical trading workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
• Stay informed of the latest frontend development trends and incorporate best practices into your work.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and team collaboration.
