Front End Developer - Part-Time

Pony Express HQ is seeking a part-time Front End Developer to join our team. As a Front End Developer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining features for our platform. You will be working with a variety of technologies and fields, contributing to a robust data layer. We value ownership and encourage engineers to take ideas from conception to shipping.

Responsibilities:

• Apply computer science course knowledge to real-world problems.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain features.
• Follow mentoring as specified.
• Build monitoring and alerting tools and participate in weekly on-call rotations.
• Become a product expert and customer champion.

Requirements:

• Working experience in a similar role.
• Writing website code with programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Node.js
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Ability to work independently and within a geographically distributed engineering team.
• Coding experience in any programming language.
• Ability to speak and write in English.
• Experience approaching software engineering problems systematically and independently.
• Effective communication skills, being a proactive, self-motivated, positive attitude.

Extra points: knowledge of databases, in-memory storages, NoSQL and key-value databases, Javascript, Node.js, strong understanding of TDD, unit and automated tests. Fixing any website issues or bugs that arise
