Founding Full Stack Engineer

About the Job:

Vibrant is developing an AI-powered operating system for modern practitioner-led care, designed to empower clinicians to deliver personalized medicine efficiently. This role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to shape our product from the ground up.

Why this role exists:

• Own v1/v2 of a product used daily by clinicians.
• Shape the company's architecture, product direction, hiring standards, and execution.
• Build AI solutions that reduce clinical workload and improve care decisions.

What you’ll do:

• Design and build the core product, including data modeling, APIs, and the front-end experience.
• Implement AI-powered workflows for clinicians (reasoning support, summarization, drafting, and retrieval) while focusing on evaluation, safety, and versioning.
• Integrate with clinical systems (EHRs, scheduling, communications, and telemedicine) to create a seamless experience.
• Incorporate privacy and compliance measures from the start (auditability, access controls, and secure handling of data).
• Create internal tooling, observability, CI/CD, and lightweight guardrails for efficient shipping.
• Collaborate closely with founders and clinicians to scope, prototype, measure, and iterate quickly.

You might be a fit if you:

• Have experience building 0→1 at an early-stage startup and owning a product.
• Are a full-stack generalist comfortable working across data, APIs, and UI.
• Have shipped LLM-based features (or prototypes) and emphasize evaluation, safety, and iteration.
• Possess a strong technical foundation and product sense.
• Are proactive, learn quickly, and prioritize efficient execution.

Logistics:

• Remote: Based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Team meetups: One week per month in San Francisco (Presidio).
• Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 base salary, plus 0.75% - 1% equity.
