Director of Engineering (R&D)

Payoneer seeks a technology-driven and people-focused Director of Engineering (R&D) in Gurgaon to lead with innovation and drive a commitment to excellence in our payment solutions environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and build teams to develop cutting-edge cross-border payment systems and modernize infrastructure for business growth and customer solutions.
• Influence strategy as a key member of the management team.
• Mentor managers, teams, and engineers, and scale the organization.
• Promote an agile work environment and ensure adoption of agile methodologies.
• Collaborate with Product, SRE, DevOps, Data, Operations, and other R&D teams to achieve business goals.
• Design technical solutions, evaluate architectural options, and define technical direction and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of innovation and personal development.
• Manage team growth, recruitment, and development processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 5+ years of managerial experience leading development groups or overseeing R&D in small/medium companies.
• 10+ years as a developer with full-stack experience (e.g., C#, .NET, Java).
• Proficiency with REST APIs, Queues, and Microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and system development.
• Expertise in code reviews, test coverage, and agile methodologies.
