Backend Engineer

Dodo Payments is seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer with profound expertise in Rust to join our team in Bengaluru/Bangalore, India. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing backend systems that are not only highly reliable and scalable but also maintain exceptional speed and security to manage our rapidly growing transaction volumes. Responsibilities include developing robust services for our payment processing platform using Rust, ensuring code excellence through clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and conducting thorough code reviews. You will be instrumental in building systems that sustain high performance and availability during scaling, implementing stringent security measures essential for the fintech industry, and collaborating effectively with front-end engineers and product managers to define feature specifications and deliver premium products. A key aspect of this role involves staying abreast of current trends in fintech and payment technologies, evaluating, and proposing innovative tools and technologies to enhance our systems.

Qualifications include a minimum of 2 years of backend development experience, with at least 1 year specifically using Rust. Proven expertise in system design, demonstrating the ability to architect and implement scalable, performance-oriented services with Rust, is crucial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of delivering complex projects are essential. Knowledge of cryptographic techniques and security protocols is considered a significant advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working in dynamic, high-growth startup environments are preferred.
