ManTech is seeking a motivated, career-oriented SME Backend Java Developer to join their innovative team in Ashburn, VA. This hybrid position requires 2 days onsite and 3 days remote.

The role involves developing and maintaining end-user focused, object-oriented, data-driven analytic applications to support CBP threat analysis and targeting.

Responsibilities include:

Leading and performing development and maintenance of applications.
Identifying technical solutions for business problems and collaborating with architects and stakeholders.
Developing, modifying, and documenting application code.
Demonstrating understanding of Java Application Servers and relevant data/databases.
Participating in design reviews and project meetings.
Contributing to project teams and providing development expertise.
Mentoring junior developers and contributing to a community of practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

HS Diploma/GED and 20+ years or AS/AA and 18+ years or BS/BA and 12+ years or MS/MA/MBA and 9+ years or PhD/Doctorate and 7+ years.
Hands-on experience with Java 8+ and expertise in Java and Object-Oriented Design.
Experience using Spring for Micro Services/REST APIs and with ORM libraries.
Experience with relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Postgres) and SQL.
Experience with web/application servers (e.g., Tomcat, WildFly, WebLogic).
Experience developing solutions via Amazon Web Services (e.g, AWS EC2, RDS, S3).
Experience with build tools, software source code management, and distributed data/computing tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Developing applications with Spring Boot.
Experience with NoSQL database systems (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
Experience with continuous integration using Jenkins or Bamboo.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools.

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain DHS CBP suitability.

The physical requirements of this position involve occasional movement within the office.
