Backend Developer

Yosemite Crew is seeking a Product Engineer with strong backend programming experience to help shape the next generation of pet care tools. This role involves architecting and building core backend systems (Node.js, TypeScript, Go, MongoDB, AWS), owning the API layer, leading the development of AI-powered features, and building dev tools. This position also includes building privacy-first systems, working closely with the founding team, and contributing to growth distribution efforts. The responsibilities include researching and publishing technical blog posts, engaging the community on Discord, collaborating with product and marketing to define messaging, running A/B tests, implementing messaging, and collecting and synthesizing feedback. The ideal candidate will have experience with APIs, infrastructure, systems thinking, LLMs, scalable architecture, and a focus on user experience. Bonus points for experience with healthcare systems, developer tooling, or open-source contributions.
