Backend Developer

As a Backend Developer at Draup, you will be instrumental in transforming vast datasets into valuable business insights for global enterprises. You'll work with cutting-edge backend tools and solutions, utilizing scalable deployment options. This role places you within a proficient team of developers, researchers, and co-founders to develop product use cases.

Responsibilities:

• Build highly scalable services to handle terabytes of data.
• Identify innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Drive performance, scale, and reliability improvements in core Draup services.
• Manage and deliver features from planning to deployment.
• Serve as a resource for guidance and troubleshooting within the team.
• Proactively participate in code reviews, architecture, and design discussions.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Maintain engineering standards for coding, code reviews, and releases.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of software development experience in languages like Python, Java, C/C++, or Go. Python and Django experience is preferred.
• Deep understanding of optimized RESTful API development.
• Knowledge of web frameworks like Django or similar, for ORM-based or multi-tier data-heavy web applications will be an advantage.
• Entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to solve problems efficiently while maintaining quality design.
• Creative and disciplined in code.
• Knowledge of Gen AI tools and technologies is a plus.
• Solid SQL knowledge and database proficiency (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, Mongo, Redis, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with graph databases like Neo4j or AWS Neptune adds additional value.
• Familiarity with queue-based messaging frameworks (Celery, RQ, Kafka, etc.) and distributed systems is advantageous.
• Understand a programming language's limitations.
• Knowledge of accessibility and security compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts.
• Skills in version control, CI/CD, cloud basics, debugging, and test-driven development are beneficial.
