Back End Developer

GovDash is seeking a backend-leaning engineer to join the Capture Cloud team and help scale Bid Match, an engine that searches across millions of records to surface the right opportunities. This role involves expanding data sources, improving recommendation logic, and making messy government data usable. If you thrive on solving complex problems and want to make a real impact, this is the place for you. As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Building and maintaining backend services that power Bid Match, with a focus on scale and reliability.
• Scraping, ingesting, and integrating new government data sources into our platform.
• Refining our recommendation engine to maximize accuracy and relevance.
• Developing tools to normalize and sanitize real-world datasets.
• Collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver data-driven features.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong backend development skills in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience with web scraping, APIs, and data integration.
• Comfort working with large, messy datasets.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup.
• Bonus: exposure to search/recommendation systems, data science, or government contracting data.
