Associate Software Engineering Manager- DevOps, Java

Optum seeks an Associate Software Engineering Manager specializing in DevOps and Java to lead modern software engineering practices, optimize architectural decisions, and drive the implementation of CI/CD pipelines. The role requires experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Azure App Services), and a focus on delivering scalable full-stack web applications and RESTful microservices. This position requires a strong understanding of DevOps practices, cloud technologies, and agile methodologies. This role requires experience leading teams and a proficiency in modern programming languages like Java, Springboot, and Python.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading software engineering practices
• Optimizing architectural and design decisions
• Championing instrumentation and diagnostics
• Driving code reuse
• Establishing partnerships with stakeholders
• Identifying and addressing security gaps
• Leading the design, development, and deployment of applications and microservices
• Guiding and mentoring a team
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Ensuring high code quality
• Managing infrastructure as code
• Monitoring application performance
• Contributing to strategic technical decisions
• Staying current with emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:

• Fulltime graduation degree
• 5+ years of experience building web-enabled software
• 3+ years of experience with React, React Native, Springboot, Python
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure)
• Experience in designing solutions across multiple channels
• Experience implementing RESTful microservices
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices and agile methodologies
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks
• Proficiency in containerization and CI/CD practices
• Proven ability to lead teams in adopting new tools, technologies, and engineering practices
