Backend Architect Role at Fam
We're seeking a high-impact Backend Architect to join our engineering leadership team. You'll define and drive the long-term technical architecture across our product and platform. Collaborate with founders, product, and engineering leaders to align system design with business strategy and enable scalable growth.
In this role, you will shape technical vision and decision-making. We need someone with 10+ years of experience, deep engineering expertise, and a proven track record in scaling high-growth systems.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement backend architecture.
- Drive system design and scalability.
- Influence technical decisions across teams.
- Ensure reliability, security and observability.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in Staff, Principal Engineer, or Architect roles.
- Proven experience in scaling distributed systems and backend architecture within high-growth companies.
- Ability to influence and lead technical decisions across teams.
- Strong knowledge of system thinking, reliability, observability, security, and cross-domain integrations.
- Familiarity with FinTech or regulated industries.
- Excellent communication skills.
